Our design Process
-
Develop a cohesive vision that sets the tone for your space, guided by the design brief. This includes mood boards, a curated colour palette, and high-level spatial planning to establish the foundation of the design.
-
Building on your feedback, this stage explores aesthetics, function, and spatial planning in more depth. You'll receive initial concepts tailored to your space, including mood boards, 2D plan sketches, and early ideas for FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment).
-
Refine the concept into a fully realised design. Incorporating your feedback throughout, we’ll produce detailed 2D floor plans, elevations, and a final FF&E proposal, ready for procurement.
-
Source quality materials and pieces that align with the creative vision. Every detail is considered to ensure cohesion, craftsmanship, and design integrity.
-
Oversee the implementation to ensure the design is delivered to the highest standard. We work closely with contractors and artisans to bring everything together seamlessly, right through to the final installation.
*****
The transformation has been incredible
“Laura was pivotal in the redecoration of our home, offering invaluable advice on colour schemes for every room. She made what could have been a stressful process feel easy and even enjoyable, helping us refine our ideas and explaining the reasoning behind her suggestions. We learned so much from her about the art and science of colour along the way. One of the unexpected bonuses was Laura’s ability to act as a diplomatic mediator when my wife and I couldn’t quite agree! Thanks to her guidance, we chose colours that work beautifully in each space, and the transformation has been incredible. We couldn’t be happier with how it’s all come together.”

How Does Interior Design work?
1 Creative Direction
Creative Direction is the foundation of every project. Great care is taken to understand the clients’ needs and aspirations, shaping a clear vision for the project ahead.
Laura begins by defining the scope of the project and exploring design preferences. It is important that every member of the household is involved in this phase, ensuring all voices are heard. When children are included in this phase, they develop a sense of ownership over their environment, bringing joy to the process for everyone. This phase begins with uncovering the client’s design preferences through detailed questionnaires and any inspirational images the client wishes to share. Laura then reviews design books and magazines with the client, refining her understanding until the vision is fully informed.
For larger renovation projects, an Architectural Review is undertaken. Laura collaborates closely with the architect to create the master plan, ensuring that the spatial flow, structural considerations, and overall layout align perfectly with the design intent. During this stage, Laura develops the design vision, establishes the style direction, defines the spatial flow, and sets the project budget, providing a clear framework for all subsequent phases.
2 Concept Design
Concept design takes the project further, defining both what the client desires and what is achievable within the architectural framework.
This stage includes:
Space planning: scaled 2D sketches to explore layout options
Mood boards, materials, and finishes: creating the overall aesthetic direction
Furniture, fixtures, and equipment concepts: including statement pieces for consideration
Indicative costings: giving a realistic sense of the budget
Detailed Design: progressing ideas toward final specifications
3 Detailed Design
During the Detailed Design phase, Laura, confident in the client’s preferences, brings the interior to life. Using technical tools and her extensive industry network, she fully realises the finished design, ensuring every detail is carefully considered and expertly executed.
Detailed design includes:
CAD floor plans and elevations: precise layouts for spatial planning and coordination
Detailed finishes schedule with samples: selecting materials and textures to bring the design to life
Preliminary lighting design: ensuring both function and ambiance are considered
Comprehensive furniture, fixtures, and equipment specification: detailing all elements for a cohesive and fully realised interior
4 Technical Design
The Technical Design stage provides the detailed information required by carpenters, electricians, and all other tradespeople working on site. It ensures that every element of the design is accurately communicated, allowing the project to be executed efficiently and to the highest standard.
This stage includes:
Decorative specification and schedules: ensuring every finish and detail is clearly defined
Joinery design drawings: precise instructions for custom carpentry and built-in elements
Window treatment drawings: detailing bespoke curtains, blinds, or shutters
Lighting design and specifications: providing accurate plans for installation and functionality
5 Procurement
Finally, Laura sources and co-ordinates the specified furniture, fixtures and equipment for the client. Through this service, Laura’s clients benefit from trade discounts and the efficiencies of her industry knowledge. By managing the procurement process, including liaising with suppliers, overseeing delivery schedules, and ensuring everything meets the project specifications, Laura removes the logistical burden, allowing clients to focus on enjoying the creative journey.
6 Project co-ordination
Laura oversees all aspects of the project on site, coordinating suppliers, tradespeople, artisans, and any other involved parties. Her role ensures that the project progresses smoothly, remains on schedule, and adheres to the agreed budget. With careful attention to timing, logistics, and communication, Laura acts as a central point of contact, preventing delays and ensuring every element aligns with the design vision.
7 Installation
The final installation is a carefully orchestrated process in which Laura brings the design vision fully to life. Every element, furniture, artwork, lighting, soft furnishings, and accessories, is meticulously placed and arranged to create a cohesive, harmonious space. Laura manages placement and coordinates any final adjustments with tradespeople and suppliers. She ensures that the space functions seamlessly, ready for immediate enjoyment. This stage transforms the project from concept into a fully realised home, with every detail thoughtfully considered.
